In January 2000, Monarch IFA added Banking services to their Financial Services portfolio, with the acquisition of the first of ten Independent Halifax Bank Agencies.
Meet the Team
John Butterworth Cert PFS. CeMap.
Prior to entering the world of finance in 1993 as a Financial Adviser with Commercial Union, John’s career encompassed HM Coldstream Brigade of Guards and Bradford City Police force. Moving into Sales in the Leisure Marine and later, the Publishing industries. He became an Independent Financial Adviser in 1997 and joint founding Director of Monarch IFA (UK) Ltd. He was appointed Director of Financial Services in January 2008.
When off duty, his obsession is Cricket. Playing at league level and for both Yorkshire and England Senior XI,s
David Johnson
David Johnson spent 25 years in the Steel Industry in Sheffield, the last 12 of which in technical management. He joined the Financial Services profession in 1992 with Abbey Life, becoming independent in 1996. With John Butterworth, he set up Monarch IFA (UK) Ltd in 1999, opening their first Halifax Agency in 2000. Due to continued growth he was appointed as Finance Director in December 2006.
Craig Thompson
After graduating from the University of Sheffield, Craig joined a small practice of independent financial advisers. Since then he has specialised in business start up and growth in both the financial and property sectors. Along the way Craig has worked with some of the leading financial institutions in the country including Friends Provident, Zurich, Bradford & Bingley and Lloyds Banking Group. Craig joined Monarch IFA (UK) Ltd in 2006 as a director, becoming the Operations Director in July 2009.
